Treadmill miles are HARD

2.75 miles on the treadmill before work. In a moment of weakness I signed up for a PAIR of races this Saturday, 5K followed by a 10K! I may not be able to walk or think after that :)

Lesson Learned

Did 4 miles at 4:30, hadn't eaten since 11:00. I was sooo tired/hungry/lightheaded at the end. I will make sure I have enough energy from now on.

Praise the Lord!

I just did a PAIN-FREE TREADMILL 5K. Thanks to prayer, a snow day in the county where I work, and an angel knee brace i borrowed from a friend. I am headed out to buy one today! I also learned a new stretch for the outside of your knee.

Update

Did the 5K on Saturday, just did a quick 2 miles before bed. Serious knee pain, not sure what the next move will be. Dr. Google says take at least 2 weeks off, but how do you do that when you are trying to increase mileage? Grrr.

Harder than it should have been...

I set out today to run 4 miles, but for some reason, nothing was in sync. It was cold, but I had on too many layers and felt weighed down. My knee started to hurt, which has never happened before, by the end I was sort of limping. That had me really worried b/c I am supposed to run a race this Saturday. All in all, I ran 2.2, and walked .8.

Running With a Sore Core

Last night I met with some girlfriends and we worked out our "cores" with various sit-ups, stretches, jumps, and turns. Then this morning, I met a friend for my first outdoor run. It was cooooold. We ran 2, walked 1...and then I really noticed my "core". Ouch!

Taking Advantage of Nap

AP's nap that is. I found time for a 1.5 mile run during nap time. So far, we have both been running on the treadmill, which is harder for both of us.

Can we do it this year?

If you've been reading this for long, you know that Hubs ran the Music City Half Marathon last year and I.....well, I did not. I had been training with him, but got completely distracted by a little thing we refer to as AP:) We are attempting to train again, starting from GROUND ZERO. We are going to attempt to blog our progress here as a means of accountability. So here goes....
